The Commission engages with children and young people in alternative care to safeguard their rights, interests and wellbeing.
Community Visitors meet regularly with Queensland’s most vulnerable children and young people living in:

• out-of-home residential facilities (including youth shelters and mental health facilities)
• supported accommodation
• disability services
• youth detention centres, and
• foster care.

Community Visitors discuss with young people in Queensland’s child safety system matters and issues that are important to them. They check that children are receiving appropriate care so they can develop into active and informed citizens who contribute to the community.
